It was the perfect spring day to start the social season with Simply You’s hotly-anticipated event, Colour My Life. Taking over the recently opened Mantells Tamaki Drive in Auckland, with arched windows overlooking Okahu Bay, the guests vibrant outfits were the perfect match for the sun-dappled space.
The dining room was given a Simply You touch with artful floral arrangements bursting from Resene paint cans. At the front of the room, the stage was set for our experts to share their tips for a life lived in full colour with jewel-toned furniture from BoConcept, plush carpet from Carpet Court and Curtain Studio’s ethereal curtains as the backdrop.
After toasting with Veuve du Vernay champagne on arrival in the Swatch Lounge, guests sat down to a three-course seasonal menu with wine matches from Lawson Dry Wines in the dining room.
Simply You’s Marcel Gull was joined on stage by local fashion legend, and founder of the New Zealand Fashion Museum Doris de Pont, who spoke about our country’s unique fashion outlook.
The renowned interior designer Melissa Heath had flown in from Australia to discuss the latest home trends – from over-the-top furnishings to the subtle use of colour – and to share one of her recent VIP projects. Next, Marcel was joined by beauty editor Tracy Davis, to talk about the latest anti-ageing innovations from Dr. LeWinn’s advanced skincare products.
The event ended on a high note, with a fabulous fashion show styled by The Fashion Department’s Sally-Ann Mullin. The looks we loved included bold use of colour, stripes with a twist, and statement accessories.
