Kim Kardashian has given us a rare glimpse into her ultra minimal LA home that she shares with husband Kanye West and their three (soon to be four) children, North, Saint and Chicago West.

During her 73 Questions interview with Vogue, Kim describes their home as a “minimal monastery”, of which the inspiration was taken from Axel Vervoordt, who designed the house, and Kanye himself.

Axel Vervoordt is a world-famous interior designer, who says “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”.  He believes that the home should be a personal expression of your soul.

This influence is clear as Kim takes us through her stylishly pared-back home, where Belgian minimalism takes centre stage and white, grey and beige are the colours of choice.

The tour starts in the bedroom. It’s elegantly decked out in white and cream tones and was described by Vogue as “the size of an aeroplane hangar”. We then get a glimpse into an ensuite that’s as big as the bedroom itself and (blink and you’ll miss it) a little spy into a walk-in-wardrobe.

Kim then leads us down a corridor bathed in light into what is described as the living room, where one sculptural sofa, an unbleached Steinway piano and an eighth-century Thai statue fill the space.

Through a formal dining room and into the spacious show kitchen with a giant island and pale wooden cabinetry. A large kitchen nook that easily seats 20 is nestled in the corner with an outlook onto the garden. Even though this space is what the hashtag #kitchengoals was made of, Kim told Vogue that the family actually spend most of their time in the staff kitchen.

Granted these few spaces are merely a glimpse into what the whole house looks like, but one thing’s for sure, this stylish, neutral and tasteful home is a complete one-eighty from Kim’s previously black-and-white-all-glam-maximalist interior style.
