Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo lists her stunning Spanish villa in LA

After building up an impressive property portfolio, with at least five multi-million-dollar homes under their belt last year, Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and her partner Chris Ivery seem to be downsizing, so to speak.

At the end of 2017 the design-savvy duo sold their mid-century villa in the Hollywood Hills for over $2 million (US) and, just months later, they listed their modern Hamptons home in Sag Harbor for a whopping $3.79 million (US).

Now, the real-estate wheelers and dealers have listed their 1920s Spanish Villa in Whitley Heights in the foothills above Hollywood for a cool $2.795 million (US).

Pompeo, currently one of the highest paid actresses on television, purchased the property in 2005 for $1.295 million, which means she is set to make a tidy profit.

Pompeo’s eye for design and architecture is reflected in the mindful restoration of the property, where every little design detail has been carefully considered. From the carved wood front door to the terracotta tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms, the heritage features have not been forgotten.

Surprisingly there are only two bedrooms in the two-storey home but there are plenty of other living spaces to enjoy as well as a media room, a commercial style kitchen and spacious dining room – perfect for entertaining!

Panoramic city and mountain views can be enjoyed from the manicured Mediterranean style garden that has been planted out with sculpted hedges, a small fruit orchard, olive trees and tall palms.

At the centre of the landscaped garden is a sizeable swimming pool surrounded by lush green lawn – the ideal spot for soaking up the LA sun.

So, what’s left in the couple’s property portfolio? For now, they are hanging onto their Mediterranean mansion in the gated Laughlin Park enclave in L.A.’s Los Feliz as well as an architect-designed pavilion in a semi-remote spot in Malibu, Calif. Not bad if you ask us!
