Paterson Architecture Collective (PAC Studio) prides itself on its commitment to realising ideas in the world. Ideas-driven and with a thoughtful approach to design, PAC Studio always puts people are the heart of their design. They believe an inclusive approach is the key to compelling architecture.
They’re open to unconventional propositions and thrive in a challenge. PAC Studio excels through their wide variety of skills and relationships with inter-related disciplines.
Their projects are modern, well thought-out and compelling to look at. An example of this is their Akaroa house, which combines contemporary design with a sensitivity of scale. The home needed to be big enough to accommodate three generations of family, but discrete in aesthetic. The solution was to break the building into a series of steeply pitched gabled roofs that recede and push forward. This created the look of a number of modestly sized buildings and maintains the intimate, mostly smalle scale form well-known in Akaroa.
