Striving to achieve beautiful, functional designs, Belinda George Architects explores personal and collective histories in all of her projects. Being ideas driven, they attempt to seek hidden potential in their briefs and sites for results that both surprise and satisfy.
Founded in 1996 by the practice’s namesake Belinda George, they have a primary focus on residential projects as well as small-scale commercial briefs. Acting as a client partner rather than a project manager is what they believe produces highly poetic results, and they are committed to a fully collaborative design processes.
A significant recent project for the architect; the design and build of her and husband David White’s rural home has been awarded the tile of New Zealand’s best retreat. The shed inspired house adheres to George’s “love of that New Zealand vernacular” and the collection of structures is a testament to her exceptional architectural abilities.
