Why terracotta coloured linen is the new trend you need in your bedroom

A bright new bedroom setting is a great way to lift your mood and make resolutions stick in 2018 especially if, like Alex, more breakfasting in bed is at the top of your list

New year, new bedroom! With fresh beginnings in mind, I was inspired to take on a bedroom style reset to help get the new year off to a good (-looking) start. My hope is for a calming and peaceful 2018… with more breakfast in bed. These goals have guided my colour and styling choices for this terrific terracotta bedroom.

Starting with Dulux ‘Manorburn’ on the walls, its warm grey undertones helping to create a serene sleeping space, I chose statement A&C French Flax linen bedding in a new terracotta tone, then paired it with complementary layers of olive.

The addition of a few simple breakfast serving accessories, including this lovely rattan breakfast tray, is a little invitation to the universe to bring more lazy Sunday lie-ins my way! As a small creative touch, I found a fun way to display some of my favourite things above my bed by hanging up this moss-covered tree branch – it’s amazing what inspiration you can find in your own backyard. This tranquil room is just what I had in mind for my 2018 bedroom and these colours make me feel relaxed and right at home.
