Front doormats are a practical accessory, but they’re more than just a spot to wipe your shoes. Discover how you can showcase your style on your doorstep
13 stylish doormats and how to choose the perfect one
- It’s important to pick a front doormat that is durable and made from weather-resistant materials. Teak, woven seagrass and rubber are all very hard-wearing and ideal for busy indoor-outdoor areas.
- While doormats come in many sizes and shapes, make sure it suits the scale of your door. Ideally the doormat should be about the same width as your doorway, or close to it.
- Before you rush out and buy a doormat, measure the space between the bottom of the door frame and the ground. You don’t want to end up with one that’s too thick and gets stuck when you open the door.
