Freshen up your summer decor with these on-trend updates

If you haven’t yet visited Freedom’s store in the Westgate Lifestyle Centre, now is the perfect time. From outdoor furniture to tableware for the bach and seasonal interior updates, you will find plenty to satisfy your summer needs.

Massey’s Westgate Lifestyle Centre opened mid-2016, as a hub for home renovating and decorating. Freedom was one of the first stores to open. “With summer in full swing, the centre has become a mecca for those who are home renovating,” says Katy Miles, Freedom Westgate store manager.

Freedom’s summer collection consists of three inspirational stories: Bayside Luxe, Intrepid Modernist and Nostalgic Revival. Bayside Luxe, with its blue palette and natural textures, is “inspired by cloudless skies and endless days by the sea”.

Intrepid Modernist focuses on woven textures and earthy tones and prints, while Nostalgic Revival embraces the laid-back luxury of Palm Springs in the 1950s. Colour-wise, Katy says neutrals are on-trend this season, as are pastel pinks and blues, and navy and metallic tones. In the outdoor realm, neutrals such as grey and white are big. “Concrete and other hard-wearing materials are also proving to be popular, as they are perfect for withstanding sun and rain,” says Katy.
