New Onehunga apartments bring sense of community to shared living

Onehunga is experiencing a reinvention of sorts – with a major redevelopment of the waterfront, upgrades to its town centre and new transport links providing easier access to the suburb. (The love-it-or-loathe-it shopping mall even got a $1.2 million upgrade.)

The Fabric of Onehunga apartment project, which includes five four-storey buildings, was developed with this wider growth in mind. The apartments, designed by Ashton Mitchell and developed by Lamont & Co, are a considered addition to the villa-lined neighbourhood.

The apartments are built around shared open spaces with beautiful landscaping and a network of common green areas to encourage a sense of community. The 240-apartment development is due for completion in 2019.
